Dr Willem Erasmus is a successful plastic surgeon in Cape Town.

Dr Willem Erasmus was schooled in the midlands of Natal, and then moved to Pretoria where he attended TUKS and obtained his MBChB. Thereafter Dr Willem Erasmus travelled the country and the United Kingdom, working as a medical officer in various fields ranging from Paediatric Trauma to General Surgery, but once he found the field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery his mind was set.

Dr Willem Erasmus then spent 6 years working in the field. He started training in General Surgery at Groote Schuur and Red Cross Children’s Hospital, where he worked with burn victims.

He then attended Wits University to further his studies and qualified as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. He was also given the opportunity to assist the best cosmetic surgeons in Johannesburg and was able to learn from them. Once his training was completed, he remained on at the WITS Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery department as a consultant, to teach young plastic surgeons for some time doing state and private work.

Dr Willem Erasmus moved to Cape Town in 2011 and joined the Renaissance Body Science Institute, where he worked closely with renowned facial plastic surgeon, Des Fernandes. At the RBSI, he focussed on Cosmetic Surgeries, working with faces, breasts, body reshaping and hand surgery.

Although he is mainly involved with Cosmetic work, Dr Willem Erasmus still has a keen interest in skin cancers and general reconstruction. In order to persue these interests, he divides his time so he that he can do Pro Bono work for Operation Smile (www.operationsmile.org.uk), where he performs reconstructive surgeries on children with cleft palates in underdeveloped countries.

When he is not working with Operation Smile, Dr Willem Erasmus is able to perform breast augmentations, breast lifts, eyelid surgery, face lifts, nose jobs, botox, fillers, abdominoplasty and liposuction.
