Maureen Helman is a clinical psychologist accredited by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). She is in private practice in the Plumstead/Wynberg/Constantia area. She received her Master’s degree from the University of the Free State in 1987 and has been in private practice since 1988. She has certification in Clinical Hypnosis and has practiced in that field since 1992. She has certification with the South African Institute of Psychotherapy (SAIP).
Maureen deals with a variety of psychological issues including depression, anxiety couple conflict, grief and loss, adjustment disorders, healing of old wounds. Clients include late adolescents, adults and couples. Hypnotherapy is used, if clients wish to use that modality, for their psychological problem as well as for smoking, study-related difficulties, public speaking, and habit disorders.
