About Dr Mohamed Faadiel Williams

Dr Mohamed Faadiel Williams is a Psychiatrist with a focus on Adult Psychiatry. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Cape Town in 1999 and began working in psychiatry exclusively until he went on to complete a fellowship in Psychiatry in 2008. Dr Williams worked internationally at the world-renowned Maudsley Hospital, Kings College and Bethlem Royal Hospital in the United Kingdom before moving back to South Africa to specialise. He has since worked in both the government and private sector and is currently the Co-chair of the Division of Public Mental Health at the University of Cape Town. Dr Williams is registered with both the Health Professions Council of South Africa and the South African Medical Association and has had an article published in the prestigious South African Medical Journal. He has also written a chapter on bereavement and coping with stress for the textbook: Primary Care Psychiatry - A Practical Guide for South Africa and an article for the Continuing Medical Education Journal on Adult Alcoholism. Dr Mohamed Faadiel Williams believes that everyone, no matter what sort of mental health challenges they’re facing - Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia or the effects of Trauma- deserves a competent, caring psychiatrist that can facilitate their wellness, allowing them to live the fulfilling life they’ve always wanted to.
