Dr Maryke Woolf

Maryke obtained a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology and Community Counseling from Stellenbosch University followed by a clinical internship at Lentegeur Psychiatric hospital. She completed her community service year with the Department of Correctional Services, where she provided psychological services to adults with a wide range of difficulties. During her clinical training, she provided in- and out-patient psychological services to children, adults, couples and groups. She also provided neuropsychological and psychometric assessments to individuals with a neurological insult (including stroke, traumatic brain injury, dementia) and/or intellectual and functional limitations. Maryke is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa and is a member of the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF), the Psychological Society of South Africa (PsySSA) and the Cape Town Psychoanalytic Self Psychology Group (CTPSPG). Her clinical orientation is informed by Psychodynamic, CBT and supportive psychotherapies. Maryke believes that effective therapy relies on the strength of the relationship between the clinician and the client, therefore treatment is planned with the individual’s needs in mind.
